• The transport and logistics operator, part of the FAN Courier group, developed the 4PL integrated logistics chain management service for industrial clients in 2024.
• FAN SLS Cargo continuously invests in innovative transport and storage solutions, as well as in operating systems for process integration and automation.

FAN SLS Cargo, the logistics and transportation operator owned by FAN Courier, achieved a turnover of over €33.8 million last year, marking a 34% increase compared to the previous year. The company’s primary investment focus has been the development of its 4PL (Fourth-Party Logistics) service, which involves the integrated management of the entire logistics chain for industrial clients, from raw materials to finished products.
The company’s growth in 2024 was largely driven by the expansion of operations at its multimodal terminal in the western area of the capital. The terminal has a storage capacity of 1,200 TEUs and features a modern operating system (Navis Octopi) designed to automate and streamline operations. The FAN SLS Cargo Intermodal Terminal uses this operating system to integrate and automate operational processes across internal departments, connect with business partners (clients, carriers, shipping lines), and improve both internal and external predictability of terminal activities. Growth was also supported by the opening and operation of temperature-controlled storage centers in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.
“All the investments we made in 2024 were a natural continuation of our business development strategy, whose main focus is identifying and developing innovative transport and storage solutions to become reliable partners for our clients in growing their businesses. Implementing the latest IT solutions and developing integrated transport systems reflect the quality and promptness we promise to the clients who have chosen us as their partners. Our planned investment projects for this year also align with this approach, aiming to identify new logistics and transport solutions,” said Mihai Stoica, Managing Director of SLS Cargo.
Among FAN SLS Cargo’s investment projects for 2025 are the development of a new integrated refrigerated road transport service, the opening and operation of additional temperature-controlled storage centers across the country, the expansion of intermodal routes to key economic hubs in Europe, and the development of the Customer Service and Commercial departments.
In 2025, FAN SLS Cargo’s business priorities focus on increasing profitability by raising the number of containers transported by rail, expanding the refrigerated transport network, and diversifying services. Additionally, the company plans to invest in digitalization, sustainability, and talent development, all aimed at fostering innovation in its relationships with clients and suppliers.
For the current year, FAN SLS Cargo anticipates a 25% growth, with fiscal changes posing significant challenges. These changes could lead to higher transport and storage costs due to increased road taxes, rising fuel prices, and inflation. Other difficulties include long invoice payment terms for transport services and extended wait times at border crossings. The latter issue is expected to decrease significantly with Romania’s entry into the Schengen free movement area. However, in maritime transport, transit times have increased due to the Red Sea conflict, which has also driven up procurement rates for sea freight services.
