In a world shaped by global challenges such as climate change, resource depletion, and social inequality, sustainability has become essential for companies. As a courier company integrated into the local and regional trade network, we take responsibility for reducing our environmental impact and maximizing our positive contributions to society. For this reason, we have developed our first sustainability strategy, which reflects our commitment to integrating responsible practices across all our operations – from transport and logistics to employee motivation and community engagement. We believe that sustainability is not only a moral imperative, but also a strategic necessity for long-term viability and success.
At FAN Courier, we acknowledge the significant environmental impact of the courier industry; however, we see these challenges as opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and building a better future. Our sustainability strategy for the 2024–2027 period, with 2023 as the baseline year, is built around five strategic objectives:

Our sustainability statement presents our ESG performance, progress toward the objectives of the 2023–2027 Sustainability Strategy, and the directions through which we are accelerating the transition to a responsible courier model: reducing emissions, respecting human rights, improving working conditions, and strengthening a sustainable supply chain.
FAN Courier’s Strategic Objectives
I. We deliver on our promise to reduce the environmental impact of our courier operations
We are continuously reducing our environmental impact by focusing on lowering emissions generated by our own operations and across our value chain. We invest in clean technologies, operational efficiency, and sustainable packaging, with the goal of achieving greenhouse gas emissions neutrality by 2040. In doing so, we strengthen FAN Courier’s commitment to a responsible courier model and a greener economy.
Strategic directions and ongoing actions:
- reducing carbon emissions from parcel delivery operations by expanding the FANbox network and the network of fixed pick-up/drop-off points, as well as by increasing the electric vehicle fleet by an average of 50 vehicles per year
- developing a decarbonization plan to set greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets by the end of 2026
- obtaining SBTi approval for our decarbonization targets by 2030
- developing a low-emission delivery pilot project in Bucharest
- expanding the production and self-consumption of renewable energy
II. We deliver on our promise to build a strong connection between our customers and their end users
Our mission is to enhance the experience between our customers and their end consumers. We are committed to facilitating seamless and pleasant interactions, ensuring the quality and timeliness of every delivery, and continuously innovating to deliver simple, efficient, and smart services. At the core of our actions is the ambition to exceed customer expectations and build long-term relationships based on trust and loyalty.
Strategic directions and ongoing actions:
- Implementing tools and methods to measure and increase customer satisfaction with the delivery services provided by the end of 2026.
- Developing an action plan to improve the quality of customer support services by reducing complaints and optimizing response times by the end of 2026.
- Developing and implementing specific initiatives to enhance delivery services and customer experience such as reducing delivery times, optimizing customer communication processes, and improving the quality of support services in line with the business strategy.
- Developing and implementing initiatives to increase customer loyalty and advocacy, including personalized services, loyalty programs, and referral-based rewards.
III. We deliver on our promise to create an inspiring work environment
Our commitment goes beyond parcel delivery and includes caring for the people we work with. We strive to create a work environment that inspires and ensures well-being, safety, and professional development, recognizing that employees are the most important resource for long-term success. We invest in training, work–life balance, recognition and appreciation, as well as in a culture focused on performance, innovation, and an entrepreneurial mindset. We promote diversity and inclusion so that every employee feels respected and valued.
Strategic directions and ongoing actions:
- Implementing an annual employee consultation system and an action plan based on the results.
- Developing and communicating the anti-violence and anti-harassment guideline through annual training sessions.
- Implementing the occupational health and safety training plan for in-house operational staff, with gradual extension to partner agencies.
- Ensuring a competitive salary policy for all employee categories.
- Offering flexible working hours and remote work options.
- Providing continuous training and professional development programs aligned with business objectives.
IV. We deliver on our promise of a future in which we overcome social barriers
Our mission is to help the community in which we operate overcome its limits and fully explore its potential. Through the FAN Courier Foundation and our CSR programs, we aim to act as a catalyst for change and progress in Romanian society and to provide everyone with the support needed to excel. We believe that education, performance, an active lifestyle, and an entrepreneurial spirit are the pillars with the power to positively transform society, which motivates us to invest in projects and initiatives that promote these values.
Areas where we generate impact:
- Reducing school dropout rates by supporting at least 100 students per year with scholarships to pursue high school and university studies.
- Improving living conditions for families whose homes are not connected to the electricity grid.
- Supporting cultural initiatives by establishing a multi-year partnership with the National Library of Romania.
- Providing free transportation for social and humanitarian causes, including disadvantaged communities and groups, educational institutions, and individuals and communities in need.
- Planting a minimum of 20,000 trees per year in areas at risk of desertification, as well as on degraded and unproductive land.
- Supporting NGOs active in the fields of education, environmental protection, health, access to information, community building, and advocacy.
V. We deliver on our promise of a governance model that inspires trust
Our mission is to implement and maintain high standards of transparency, integrity, and accountability across all operational and decision-making aspects of the business. This governance model aims to inspire trust both internally between employees and management and externally, among business partners, customers, and the communities in which we operate.
