In 2026, FAN Courier focuses on international development and the accelerated expansion of the FANbox network.
Bucharest, January 14, 2026.
FAN Courier, a Romanian entrepreneurial company founded in 1998 by Felix Pătrășcanu, Adrian Mihai, and Neculai Mihai, closed 2025 with revenues of RON 1.546 billion (approximately EUR 310 million), marking an increase of around 11% compared to the previous year. This performance confirms the company’s sustainable growth strategy and its ability to adapt to a volatile economic environment.
For 2026, FAN Courier maintains its steady development trajectory and forecasts approximately 15% growth in turnover, a pace considered optimal for absorbing increasing market volumes while preserving operational efficiency and high service quality standards.
Parcel volumes delivered by FAN Courier have increased steadily year over year, and 2025 was no exception, recording a 15% increase compared to 2024. This evolution was driven by the accelerated growth of e-commerce, the expansion of online stores, and the rising consumer preference for online shopping, motivated by convenience, offer diversity, and fast delivery times.
In 2025, the company’s investments totaled approximately EUR 40 million, primarily directed toward the locker network, technology and IT, fleet modernization and expansion, as well as the development of logistics infrastructure.
Half of the total investment budget (around EUR 20 million) was allocated to the expansion of the FANbox locker network, one of the company’s most important strategic projects in recent years.
Approximately EUR 12 million was invested in the development and automation of HUBs and regional warehouses. Modernized locations include Dumbrăvița (Timiș County), Ineu (Arad County), the Bacău HUB, and the FAN Action headquarters in Bucharest.
EUR 5.7 million was invested in fleet development, while over EUR 2 million was allocated to digitalization. All these investments support volume growth and operational optimization, further strengthening FAN Courier’s position as a trusted partner and a promoter of innovation in logistics.
Another major investment project completed last year was the installation of a new, state-of-the-art sorting system, designed to optimize last-mile delivery services and increase operational efficiency. The new Vanderlande system has a sorting capacity of 30,000 parcels per hour and is connected to the existing infrastructure via a dedicated tunnel. Developed in two phases, the project represents a total investment of approximately EUR 14 million.
The sorting line is primarily dedicated to parcels destined for FANbox lockers, offering a significant advantage for this delivery type by improving service efficiency, streamlining logistics flows, and enhancing the overall delivery experience.
“2025 was a year of expansion for the courier industry, especially in the B2C and e-commerce segments, despite a challenging economic and political context dominated by tax increases and fiscal uncertainty. Investments made by international marketplaces in Romania directly contributed to market growth by attracting new users and stimulating demand. At the same time, fiscal changes significantly impacted consumer behavior, leading to lower shipment volumes among some local merchants. Even so, we estimate that the courier market grew by over 10% compared to 2024,” said Adrian Mihai, CEO and co-founder of FAN Courier.
In 2025, FAN Courier reached nearly 9,500 employees across the entire network, including 300 non-EU workers. The company will continue recruiting internationally this year, driven by the difficulty of finding blue-collar labor locally, the high productivity and discipline of non-EU employees, and the ability to manage peak periods more efficiently by having staff close to operational locations.
Last year, FAN Courier’s fleet grew by 10% in the courier segment (pick-up & delivery), while the linehaul component (the intermediate transport stage in the logistics chain) expanded through both internally operated and subcontracted routes.
“For us, 2025 was a good year, with the main business objectives set at the beginning of the year being achieved. The main challenge was cost pressure. Price increases imposed by suppliers are difficult to fully pass on to customers, so we absorbed a significant portion of these increases, remaining competitive through internal process improvements. Although this context puts pressure on profitability, it also creates opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and continue investing in efficiency, technology, and quality—key elements for long-term development,” added Neculai Mihai, co-founder of FAN Courier.
Locker deliveries doubled. Target for 2026: 25% of deliveries via FANbox
One of the most important strategic projects developed in recent years is the expansion of the FANbox locker network, an investment that accelerated in 2025 amid growing customer demand. Year over year, the share of FANbox deliveries doubled, and for 2026, estimates indicate that 25% of total deliveries will be made via lockers. This represents one of the most significant and visible shifts in consumer behavior, highlighting a growing preference for out-of-home delivery solutions.
“Locker delivery has been on an upward trend for several years, which is why expanding the FANbox network remains one of our major ongoing projects. Currently, 2,700 FANbox lockers are operational, with an additional 400 units already purchased and in the process of installation. At the same time, we are preparing to acquire another 1,000 lockers, bringing total investments in this area close to EUR 40 million since the project’s launch.
For 2026, our goal is to exceed 4,000 lockers, with at least 25% of deliveries made via this channel. In recent years, we have observed a clear increase in customer preference for alternative delivery methods, which is why identifying and developing new out-of-home delivery solutions remains one of our top business priorities,” explained Felix Pătrășcanu, co-founder of FAN Courier.
Black Friday 2025: volumes up 15% and best delivery times in recent years
The Black Friday 2025 campaign confirmed FAN Courier’s operational capacity. Volumes increased by 15% compared to 2024, and customer behavior showed a strong shift toward deliveries to fixed points and lockers. Parcel typology remained relatively stable, with a noticeable increase in fashion and international marketplace shipments.
From an operational standpoint, delivery times were the best in recent years, with FAN Courier achieving a 4% increase in parcels delivered within 24 hours of pick-up, despite high volume pressure.
International expansion accelerates in 2026
In terms of international development, 2025 focused on consolidating existing operations. FAN Courier currently operates in Moldova, Greece, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Hungary, and Poland.
The year 2026 will mark a renewed phase of expansion, through both the opening of new international HUBs and entry into new markets, including Slovakia, Italy, the Czech Republic, and potentially Austria.
To date, investments in international expansion have reached approximately EUR 15 million, with the company expecting to double this amount in 2026 as external projects accelerate.
Operations in FAN Courier Moldova continued to grow in 2025, with sustained investments in infrastructure and services. The company recorded revenues of approximately MDL 55 million (around EUR 2.78 million), confirming steady business growth on the local market.
Key projects included the development of the Collect Point service, authorization as an approved consignee, and courier route redesign. By the end of 2025, FAN Courier Moldova employed 100 people and operated a fleet of 80 vehicles.
Challenges for 2026: declining consumption and rising costs amid economic uncertainty
For 2026, FAN Courier anticipates a stabilization of the courier market, strongly influenced by e-commerce, where growth momentum shows signs of slowing. At the same time, increasing volumes generated by international sellers will continue to reshape logistics flows, linehaul structures, and HUB organization.
Key challenges include declining consumption, fiscal changes, rising costs, bankruptcy risks among major players, market consolidation, and labor shortages, all within an uncertain economic and fiscal environment.
For the current year, FAN Courier maintains a solid investment level of EUR 35 million. Half of this amount will be allocated to the locker network, EUR 7 million to fleet development, EUR 5 million to HUB modernization, and EUR 3 million to continued digitalization projects.
Sustainability, a strategic pillar for long-term development
Sustainability is a strategic pillar of FAN Courier’s long-term development and is integrated across all business areas. The 2024–2027 Sustainability Strategy, together with the 2024 Sustainability Statement, reflects the company’s commitment to clear objectives, measurable results, and tangible impact on the environment, employees, and the communities in which it operates.
To reduce environmental impact, the company operates 144 electric vehicles and continues to develop its out-of-home network, which will reach 3,100 lockers by the end of Q1. FAN Courier also invests consistently in its people, promoting a safe and inclusive work environment through annual consultations, training programs, health and safety initiatives, and competitive compensation policies.
